from 5'5" to 6'1" in 2 seconds flat

I asked the daughter to pick me up some black shoes with a little height to the heel and look what she comes home with...it was a gag gift but she knows I have an affinity for sexy and funky shoes, They were fun to play with.

I am no longer height and weight disproportionate
They actually make you look slim that is if you could walk in them much less dance in them, No wonder those girls need to hang on to a pole while wearing these things. I named them the 5 pacers because that's all the further I could walk in them and not feel like I was going to fall off my shoes. They are only good for one thing...and maybe killing spiders.

I finally seen it, Mt. Rainier

We have been driving to the Buckley, Wa area lately and I think it's been about 4 times now, Everytime we are about to go there it starts raining. The barn folk now joke that the shoer must be coming it's going to rain. Now this wouldn't be significant except, those who know this area, Know that Mt. Rainier is pretty a prominent attraction there and me and my camera went home disappointed many times.
However this time when we were there it was a glorious sunny day for one day atleast (1 out of 3)and I got some snaps of the Mountain.
Holy crap, It was huge! The first time you see it, It takes your breath away. I had expected it to be big but it was huge. 14,410' at the highest elevation, It is another mountain with volcanic possibilities in the Great Northwest known as part of "The Ring Of Fire" the Cascade Range. I have photgraphed Mt. Hood and Mt. St. Helens for you already.

(Click here to see the Cascade Range Map)
We stay in either Enumclaw or Buckley when we go and the view is great. Both towns are snuggled in at the foothills of the Mt.

We go there for the Mr.s work and the place is beautiful and completely puppy friendly, which is highly important to Emmy and I,

She even has two puppy friends Indy and Jane, and the mr. seems to like to coolness of the cloudy days there also.
Now if we could start a Hotel in those areas that you could get clean rooms, Non-smoking, comfortable beds, pet friendly, wi-fi (always on), and a good breakfast with some protein instead of all the carbs. We'd make some big bucks. We have stayed at 2 of the three major hotels there and you get some of these things but not all of these things in one place. There's a reason that one of them is no longer a Best Western. It shouldn't be this hard. All I think about is "Where's my Red Lion Inn" when I need them?
Now we have found Enumclaw to be accomodating with the little shops and antique stores and good places to eat. Let us not forget Tuttles Gun Shop on Cole street Where you can see the Mr.s Knives and swords on display, right next to one of my favorite little thrift stores called "Pennies from Heaven"
The Kitchen 1521 Cole Street Enumclaw, WA 98022
For great a hometown, soda shop and good burgers feel, They had good food and friendly enough service but they close early in the day. Right after lunch and tend to get a little pissy if you come to close to the time of closing. So get there earlier than 2pm.
We have eaten at the Rainier Bar & Grill 1623 Cole Street · Enumclaw, WA 98022, Each time our meal was good, friendly service, it's a busy place and you don't have to serve yourself like at the Mint accross the street.
I go to have someone wait on me, call me finicky but I like good customer service.
Next time we'll try the Oriental Gardens, I've read they have a good cook. I've read good things about The Kettle restaurant as well, maybe we'll do both.

I'm going to go check out the little town of Orting, Wa next time also. The community name believed to derive from Indian term for "prairie village." A little western town with the pop.4300 or so with shops...Could be fun.

Qi=Energy

Recently the Mr. and I started having Shiatsu massage and I added Acupuncture to it also at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. I know your thinking ouch, huh? Well, they said the Acupuncture doesn't hurt.
It hurt a little.
I didn't eat prior to the treatment and it has something to do with how much you feel. So eat before you go just a light meal and drink warm water. I'll still go back again and try for more results.

The Japanese Dr. diagnosed me with a spleen deficiency and some kidney stagnation another words my Qi is not flowing right. After reading my palms and my tongue he said for me not to eat warm foods and drink cold drinks its hard on the Spleen. Also, all my foods should be cooked, I'm to eat less beans, spinach and stay away from peanuts. Incorporate more lemon into my diet; drinks such as teas with lemon and lemon on foods. Eat chicken gizzards in soups or just cooked to help revive the spleen, Salads are too hard on my system and are causing constipation and creating my hypertension.

Who knew? You try to be good and follow a basically good diet and it's all wrong.

Now that's all I've been eating essentially to lose weight, and feeling more bloated than ever...no wonder the weight wasn't coming off. Hmmmm, nothing refrigerated without bringing to room temp for bloating feelings. He also said that is how so many get the H. Pylori bacteria (hot meals and cold drinks). Don't drink large amounts during your meals, it causes you to have not enough saliva to break down your foods.(Poor digestion) So sip only.
To help with higher than normal blood sugars he recommended Bitter Melon a Chinese herb. Sold in most Asian stores. Also to eat sour foods, Cherries, lemons and so on to acidify my system.

I really am too SWEET. LOL.

Now the Shiatsu Massage is fabulous, I've had 2 treatments and the 2nd one was the best, Maybe I was more relaxed or something or it was the style difference between the 2 people doing the massages. I sure hope this works. I did come home feeling better yesterday than I had felt for a while. Low back pain is the absolute worst, It effects so much of your daily life.
I am praying this is going to help, Anyone else with experience in the Shiatsu and Acupuncture area? I'd be interested in hearing about your experience. good or bad.

It's National Farriers Week

First of all let me tell you I edited in MS word and for some reason it capitalized my post so I'm not screaming at you it's the programs fault and thats my story.
I'M DRIVING DOWN THE SCENIC BACK ROADS TODAY GOING HOME AND THE RADIO BROADCASTER SAYS "HAPPY FARRIERS WEEK," NOW I THINK HOLY CRAP ANOTHER HOLIDAY ONLY THIS TIME IT PERTAINS TO THE MR.S OCCUPATION. WOOHOO! ITS TIME TO CELEBRATE. MAYBE NEXT YEAR WE'LL HAVE TO MAKE THIS OUR VACATION WEEK.

MANY OF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW HARD THIS JOB IS REALLY, YOU GO TO WORK IN THE MORNING AND WORK YOUR GUTS OUT ALL DAY HOLDING UP A HORSE THAT WANTS TO LEAN ON YOU OR KICK OR BITE YOU.
SO YOU SWEAT OR FREEZE DEPENDING ON THE WEATHER FROM MORNING TO NIGHT FOR AN HONEST DAYS PAY. THIS IS ONLY THE PHYSICAL PART NOW COMES THE MENTAL PART; EVERY HORSE YOU SEE IS DIFFERENT.
SOME HAVE HOOF PROBLEMS, SOME ARE SCARED, SOME HAVE PEOPLE THAT OVER FEED, SOME ARE SPOILED ROTTEN WITH NO MANNERS AND ARE JUST PLAIN OUT TO GET YOU, SOME HAVE GENETICS GOING AGAINST THEM. THEN THERE ARE THE FEW THAT JUST NEED THEIR FEET MANICURED AND SHOES RESET. YOU MAKE THE CALL WHICH IT IS ON THAT GIVEN DAY.

IT'S MENTAL BECAUSE YOU MAKE DECISIONS TO BENEFIT THE HORSE FOR SOUNDNESS AND AT THE SAME TIME TRY TO HELP THE RIDER WITH MANIPULATIONS THAT ARE PLEASING AND HELPFUL.
ALL THIS TAKES YEARS OF SCHOOLING AND ON THE JOB EXPERIENCE AND LEARNING THAT NEVER ENDS; GOOD FARRIERS ALWAYS DO CLINICS FOR MORE AND NEW INFO.

WHEN THE MR. WAS DOING HIS SCHOOLING YEARS AGO IT WAS LESS THAN 1% MADE CORRECTIVE SHOEING OR JUST SHOEING HORSES THEIR CAREER. NOW THAT'S NOT GREAT ODDS OF GETTING A FARRIER OUT OF A BUNCH OF GUYS AND GALS THAT DO THIS TYPE OF SCHOOLING IN THE SCIENCE OF FARRIERY. MY GUESS IS THAT HASN'T CHANGED, IT'S CHALLENGING BUT REWARDING IF YOU'RE GOOD.

NOW THE HOLIDAY SHOULD INCLUDE A DAY IN THERE FOR THE MRS. ALSO, BECAUSE I'LL BET FOR THE MOST PART WE ARE THE DRIVING FORCE THAT GETS YOUR FARRIER TO YOUR BARN ON TIME MOST OF THE TIME, WE SCHEDULE, DO CUSTOMER RELATIONS, WE COLLECT OVER DUES, WE WASH STINKY CLOTHES AND I MEAN STINKY! ...AND WE LOVE THEM EVEN IF THEY SMELL LIKE BURNT HORSE HOOVES...AND ARE THE SACRIFICIAL LAMBS AT HORSE SHOW SEASON; HORSE EMERGENCIES TAKE PRECEDENCE SOMETIMES TO OUR PLANS.

IF YOU'VE GOT A HORSE SHOER AKA FARRIER THIS IS THE WEEK TELL HIM YOU APPRECIATE HIM.
